What is Paddan-aram?
Paddan-aram is a modern spelling of the region the King James Version calls Padanaram, the home of Bethuel the Syrian and his son Laban, from whom Isaac took Rebekah to wife (Genesis 25:20, Genesis 28:5). Isaac sent Jacob there to take a wife of the daughters of Laban his mother's brother (Genesis 28:2, Genesis 28:5). Jacob's sons were born to him in Padanaram, and God appeared unto him again and blessed him when he came out of it (Genesis 35:26, Genesis 35:9).
