Mizpeh

MIZ-peh

What is Mizpeh?

Mizpeh is the name of several places in Scripture. The Mizpeh in Gilead was where Jephthah was made head over the people and where he later met his daughter on returning from battle (Judges 11:11, Judges 11:34). A Mizpeh in the territory of Benjamin was a gathering place for Israel: there Samuel called the nation together to pray and repent, and after the LORD delivered them he set up the stone Ebenezer (1 Samuel 7:5, 1 Samuel 7:12).
