Who is Meshezabeel?
Meshezabeel is named in Nehemiah's record of the wall repairs as the grandfather of Meshullam son of Berechiah, who repaired a section next unto Meremoth (Nehemiah 3:4). A bearer of the name appears among the chief of the people in the roll of those that sealed (Nehemiah 10:21). A Meshezabeel is also given as the father of Pethahiah, of the children of Zerah the son of Judah, who was at the king's hand in all matters concerning the people (Nehemiah 11:24).
