What is Kiriath-jearim?

Kiriath-jearim is a variant spelling of Kirjathjearim, one of the four Gibeonite cities named with Gibeon, Chephirah and Beeroth (Joshua 9:17). Its men fetched up the ark of the LORD into the house of Abinadab (1 Samuel 7:1), where it abode twenty years (1 Samuel 7:2).
