Kir Hareseth

What is Kir Hareseth?

Kir Hareseth is spelled Kirhareseth in the KJV, a place of Moab named in Isaiah's burden against Moab. The prophet says Moab shall howl for Moab and that for the foundations of Kirhareseth ye shall mourn, surely they are stricken (Isaiah 16:7). The same lament names Kirharesh, where Isaiah says his bowels shall sound like an harp for Moab and his inward parts for Kirharesh (Isaiah 16:11).
