Iconium
ai-KO-nih-uhm
What is Iconium?
Iconium was a city where Paul and Barnabas preached in the synagogue and many Jews and Greeks believed (Acts 14:1). It was also a place of severe opposition: Jews from Antioch and Iconium turned the crowd against Paul and stoned him (Acts 14:19), and Paul later recalled the persecutions he endured there (2 Timothy 3:11).
