What is Hiddekel?

Hiddekel is one of the four rivers flowing out of Eden, described as the one going toward the east of Assyria (Genesis 2:14). It is the great river beside which Daniel stood when he received his vision (Daniel 10:4). It is commonly identified as the Tigris.
