What is Gerasenes?
Gerasenes is the reading many manuscripts give for the people of the country across the lake where Jesus healed the man with the unclean spirit, a district the King James text calls the country of the Gadarenes (Mark 5:1, Luke 8:26). Matthew names the same district the country of the Gergesenes (Matthew 8:28).
