Who is Gashmu?
Gashmu is the name written in the open letter Sanballat sent to Nehemiah, which said it was reported among the heathen, and Gashmu saith it, that Nehemiah and the Jews thought to rebel and that Nehemiah built the wall to be their king (Nehemiah 6:6). The same chapter names Geshem the Arabian among the enemies who heard the wall was builded (Nehemiah 6:1) and who sent to call Nehemiah away to the plain of Ono, thinking to do him mischief (Nehemiah 6:2).
