Who is Esaias?
Esaias is the Greek New Testament form of the name of the prophet Isaiah. He is quoted repeatedly as the one who foretold the messenger crying in the wilderness (Matthew 3:3) and whose scroll Jesus read in the synagogue at Nazareth (Luke 4:17), and John records that Esaias spoke of Christ when he saw his glory (John 12:41).
