Who is Elnathan?
Elnathan is the name of several Old Testament men. Elnathan the son of Achbor was an official of King Jehoiakim who was sent to Egypt to bring back the prophet Urijah (Jeremiah 26:22) yet later pleaded with the king not to burn Jeremiah's scroll (Jeremiah 36:25); the name also belongs to the grandfather of King Jehoiachin (2 Kings 24:8) and to men Ezra summoned as leaders on the journey to Jerusalem (Ezra 8:16).
