Elihu

ee-LAI-hyoo

Who is Elihu?

Elihu is most known as the young man Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite, whose anger was kindled against Job for justifying himself rather than God (Job 32:2). Having waited to speak because the others were older (Job 32:4), he addresses Job at length in Job 34, 35, and 36. The name also belongs to an ancestor of the prophet Samuel (1 Samuel 1:1).
