What is El Elyon?
El Elyon is the Hebrew title for God rendered 'the most high God' in English Bibles. It first appears when Melchizedek, king of Salem and priest of the most high God, blesses Abram (Genesis 14:18, Genesis 14:19), and Abram swears by 'the LORD, the most high God, the possessor of heaven and earth' (Genesis 14:22).
