Who is Boaz?

Boaz was a wealthy man of Bethlehem, a kinsman of Naomi's husband Elimelech (Ruth 2:1). He redeemed the family's inheritance and married Ruth the Moabitess (Ruth 4:9, Ruth 4:13), and their son Obed became the grandfather of King David (Ruth 4:21).
