Beth Car
beth-KAHR
What is Beth Car?
Bethcar, written as one word in the KJV, is named a single time in scripture, as the point Israel's pursuit reached: the men of Israel went out of Mizpeh and 'pursued the Philistines, and smote them, until they came under Bethcar' (1 Samuel 7:11). Nothing further is said of the site, so its location is not fixed by the text.
Meaning: house of the lamb (Hebrew)
