Barak
BEHR-ak
Who is Barak?
Barak was the son of Abinoam whom the prophetess Deborah summoned to lead ten thousand men against Sisera, the captain of Jabin's army (Judges 4:6). He agreed to go only if Deborah went with him, defeated Sisera's forces (Judges 4:15), and sang alongside her in victory (Judges 5:1). He is later named among the heroes of faith (Hebrews 11:32).
