Aram
AY-ram
Who is Aram?
Aram was a son of Shem, listed with Elam, Asshur, Arphaxad, and Lud, and the father of Uz, Hul, Gether, and Mash (Genesis 10:22, Genesis 10:23). The name belongs also to the Aram of Matthew's genealogy, whom Esrom begat and who begat Aminadab (Matthew 1:3, Matthew 1:4). Aram is used of a region as well, the mountains of the east from which Balak king of Moab brought Balaam, bidding him curse Jacob and defy Israel (Numbers 23:7).
